  • Last summer weekend

It has been such a nice summer – like it used to be. In recent years, it has been extremely hot. I ask myself if there is a natural explanation or if it falls within normal variation. I like to stay outdoors when it is summer, and this weekend was a good rounding off of the summer. It is already getting darker in the evenings.

Five years ago I took part in “Tjejmilen”. It was also a fantastic sunny day. Then the pandemic came and I started cycling instead. I didn´t want to go subway etc. to avoid getting infected. I keep my new habit of cycling and feel that I miss my jogging habits, which have been on the shelf for a few years. The oldest participant was 93 years old. She was inspiring!

  • At midnight yesterday

My dog Molly taught me how to take selfies, so if it hadn’t been for her there wouldn’t have been a photo yesterday. I had forgotten what it was like to be in a race. I stepped out of my comfort zone. All the memories from previous races came flooding back. Sometimes I have had company and sometimes I have joined anyway. Those who participate always have the same interest, so meeting new people is easy.

My training was affected by COVID-19, which started in 2020. I started cycling instead to reduce the risk of getting infected. Now the pandemic is over and it was somehow liberating to be in the race yesterday.
