April
And soon May. Do you also feel new energy since the days are brighter and it is a little warmer? I definitely do, and to be honest, I have forgotten this feeling. Still a lot of snow so I went skiing a few kilometers with sweetie yesterday (photo above). Sunshine, little windy.
I have been running a few times this weekend. Happy to have ice bugs since some roads still have a lot of ice. Looking forward to warmer days with lots of training.

Easter 2018
I will continue to write about my trip to Dubai. Since I didn’t stay so many days I had to plan my visit. I wanted to go and see Abu Dhabi, the capital, and my only possibility was to go there on New Years day since the roads were closed. That meant that I couldn’t do much on New Years eve since I had to go to sleep rather early. I knew that there was going to be a midnight light show at the Burj Khalifa, but I thought it would too busy. I watched the show on tv instead.
The hotel where I stayed had arranged a little gathering and I ended up having New Year dinner with a couple from Italy. They didn’t speak much English and I didn’t speak much Italian. But that didn’t matter. We could have a conversation anyway by showing photos and by using a few words. They had this photo of me and I thought it was more suitable for easter since I had feather decoration. So, wishing you Happy Easter by being “Easter bunny”.

Middle east kitchen and chocolate dates
To travel abroad is always exciting because you discover new food. Since I have an interest in cooking, it is fun to explore what food is offered. Often, according to me, it is the whole atmosphere that may give the extra spice. Like surroundings, climate, people and the pulse. By pulse I mean if it is a busy restaurant, tranquil, service etc. Sometimes I go to recommended restaurants from travel guides, but more often I find them by accident. Suddenly I can have an urge for eg spicy food.
It was like Swedish summer (20-25 C) when I was in Dubai. Sun every day. I walked a lot as usual. One day I had lunch by Dubai Creek, by the busy river. Since it was rather warm I just felt for a little lunch. I have had this food in Sweden but at a time when it was cold. I was surprised to discover how the warm climate made this plate (photo above) more spicy!
My biggest weakness is sweets. I found dates. Covered with chocolate. It was fun because you could make your own box of dates, just like you can pick your own box of chocolate. I have searched for these chocolate covered dates in Sweden but I haven’t found them.
