  • Happy 2019

2019 arrived safely. As I wrote previously, my books have been in focus last year. It takes time to be able to look forward. To get a new focus. I need time to let the books settle, and then I can move forward. Maturation, maybe. Like a baking process which can be traced as far as to the Egyptians in 3000 BC.

First, to make the dough, then the yeasted dough rises, baking, and then fermentation again – the final proof is a continuation of yeast fermentation, which allows the molded dough piece to relax and expand. Furthermore, the remaining period of fermentation is called oven spring. Aroma development  of the bread has been found to be dependent on yeast concentration, mixing stage and fermentation time.

This is literally speaking. When I did my PhD studies, I was told this. Writing takes time and there are many ingredients making the final result. Like personal development which is difficult to pinpoint but could be described by fermentation.

The beginning of a New Year is for me associated with music. The Vienna New Year’s Concert which always include pieces from the Strauss family. Classical music is so beautiful and it can make me shiver if I am in the right mood. I would like to begin this New Year, 2019, with Pavarotti & friends. This unites my book, that I have dedicated to friends, with something beautiful such as music. And poetry.

    Libretto (La donna è mobile)

    Woman is fickle
Like a feather in the wind,
She changes her voice — and her mind.
    Always sweet,
    Pretty face,
In tears or in laughter, — she is always lying.
    Always miserable
    Is he who trusts her,
He who confides in her — his unwary heart!
    Yet one never feels
    Fully happy
    Who on that bosom

    — does not drink love!

  • Review of 2018

This year has been devoted to finalising my books. I must admit that I have worked a lot this year. It is not so good to work so much, but when you really want to realise something a big effort is often needed. And the feeling afterwards is very rewarding. To pay attention to details that maybe nobody notice, and to know that nothing has been left for destiny to decide. It is said that “practice makes perfect”, so I am really sure that my next book will be much easier to write.

During these years two colleagues of mine have read the book “Generationer” and I am very grateful for that. They have shared this journey with me. I have paid a lot of attention to the characters in the book, and they are very popular. Especially Fredrik’s relation to his daughter Greten. One of my colleagues associated to the books “Tuesdays with Morrie” written by the American author Mitch Albom, and in addition, the book “Veronika decides to die” written by the Brazilian lyricist and novelist Paulo Coelho. There are a lot of questions in the book for the reader to answer, so I hope I will get response.

My father concluded after reading the book that life is fragile, and he liked that one of the dogs was called Morris. Furthermore, since I have friends who don’t know Swedish I write here in English. However, my books are written in Swedish. Hopefully a translation to English will be possible in the future.

The other book, “Tid för frihet”, is dedicated to poetry and photography. It is a feel good book. Sometimes I need to find a minut of peace and quiet and then I read a poem and have a look at the pictures. They are mainly from my voyage to Vietnam and Sri Lanka where some of my friends live.

2019 is approaching very rapidly and I wish everybody a Happy, Prosperous New Year. With regard to leisure – writing, photography and sport will continue to be my hobbies. What will your main focus be if you would choose one word to describe your 2019?

    Mine is health.

  • Countryside holiday

I am only writing a few words this evening to wish Merry Christmas. This is a very peaceful evening, and it is very calm. I arrived a few hours ago to the countryside. My sweetie wanted to go for a walk, but that will be tomorrow. And there is snow. It feels good to send some greetings so I share this photo with you.
