  • Lucia 🕯️

Today is a unique day in Sweden, and maybe also in other countries. We celebrate light, a tradition with origin from Italy. I will go to church this evening and listen to christmas songs. It is very popular, maybe sold out.

I will also think of my mother. My little sweetie mourns my mother, and I have learnt that dogs can mourn their mistress or master for their rest of their lives. That is why it is so good we now have Molly.

As usual, I love contrasts so I share this choir song this lucia evening.

    Cheers

  • Yesterday

Last evening I started to realise that it is December and soon christmas holidays. I had “fika” together with some of my colleagues. Nice and cosy. It made me very happy.

In contrast to this, I was sad due to the passing away of Marie Fredriksson. She has been ill for many years I know, but she has been so strong and done a lot of music even though she has been on medical treatment. I have been thinking of her music today, and her work with Roxette. She has done some music on her own as well, and I remember that I have listened to her music sometimes when I have been a unhappy. In particular the piano.

In memory of Marie Fredriksson and her beautiful work, I share this piano song.

  • 2:a Advent

There is no snow, but it is a little cold. I went for a walk with sweetie today, cutie is still too little to go for walks on the road. Since there was salt on the roads I had to wash her paws so she won’t get an inflammation.

To get into a Christmas mood, I always make lussekatter with raisins. I have my special recipe that is different from ordinary cinnamon rolls. My advise is to use a lot of saffron. That makes the bread soft and moist. It is definitely worth making your own to have a happy December with lots of fika. Sharing some inspiring music that I found while I made the bread. Good company.
