Welcome to Anna’s Diary

  • Liberian banana cake 🍌

I am very found of “the little life”. By that I mean, every day life, like starting the morning with a cup of tea. Reading the news, talk to some friends, make a cake, write here, make a dinner etc. There are many small things in life that are important and maybe you have your own little things.

Right now, a lot happens in the world, and the conflict USA-Iran is concerning everybody. This is not a local conflict. This is a global issue. I just saw the news on TV4 (Sweden), and I must say that I am impressed by the reporters knowledge on history, geography, politics etc . It is not only to have a lot of knowledge since it is difficult to put this information together, make an analysis, and then formulate questions to politicians responsible for international relations. I believe reporters have a very important role sharing news, because even though the USA and Iran are far from Sweden geographically, these tensions spreads rapidly. Social media like twitter is world wide instant communication. A lot of people from the Middle east region and the USA live in Sweden. They are in daily contact with their families and friends living in Iran and the USA. Their worries about families and friends affects everybody. So, my conclusion is that it is very important to understand that even though this conflict is geographically far from Nordic countries, it affects people.

Since this is my diary, I must write a little about the fires in Australia. I feel so sorry for all the animals who have been burnt in fire. People are talking about global warming effects. That is also worrying, and that spreads concerns all over the world. My thoughts to Australia.

Maybe this is the reason I like “the little” life. My main project today is to make a banana cake. I got a recipe from a couple who are from Liberia and live in Sweden. The banana cake is very popular in Liberia, so today, I am going to buy some bananas to make this cake.

My little life in a nutshell.

  • Navy Seals & Co

New year has begun, and I miss my mother a lot. She is dead, burried and I will never see her again. Never. I dreamt about her the other night. I needed some time of my own and animals give me peace. I share two favourites. It is like wild animals like me. In a nutshell. So soft paws. I hope you also are a true supporter of the World Wide Fund (WWF).

  • Bubblegum pop – work out 2020

Happy New Year. 2020 is here and it feels good. It will be a nice year. I started this year in Copenhagen, Denmark, which is a little brighter and a little bit warmer compared to Stockholm. A more European feeling as well since Denmark is so close to so many countries. It feels like it is a liberal country but with strict, regulating laws. There is an expression in Swedish “frihet under ansvar” that could be translated to something like “liberty comes with responsibility”. However, a feeling is a feeling, and doesn’t have to mean anything.

I need some more time to find Danish music. I will find something with “Aqua” –  bubblegum pop. That is probably good for me since I have to start with work out soon. I saw some people running along the lake in Copenhagen. That reminded me of running at Djurgården. I will start running again in mars-april and I am really longing for that. Because running is freedom.

  • Ending 2019 in Sjælland

Next time I write it will be 2020. I don’t know why, but I am longing for Christmas to be over with. I really miss brighter and warmer days. When the birds start to sing in the mornings and when machines remove sand from the streets. Every season has its charm. But first, New year, that I will spend in Copenhagen. During a few days I have searched for Danish music to listen to. It would be nice to learn Danish but it is difficult, especially the prononciations. Here, music is very good since I learn a lot just by listening. I spent hours to find this song to end 2019. It is a song with Burhan and Molly.

    See you next year!
